SHEEP SOLD UNDER WARRANT
COURT RESERVES DECISION. At the conclusion of the hearing of the claim of Tenia Pouwhare Kewene, administrator in the estate of the late Pairanla Keena I Mr. Holmden) for £246 damages against Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd. (Mr. S. Burt), in"the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon, Mr. Justice Smith reserved his decision. The claim involved the ownership oi a-number of sheep seized under a distress warrant issued against Ben Pai-< rama, -a bou of the deceased, and sold by defendants. A , 4 ■,-*'> ? Mr. Burt submitted that in selling the sheep his clients were only exercising powers given them by Act of Parliament, and that they were entitled to protection. . >. In reply Mr; Holmden contended that the seizure of sheep was not made in pursuance of the Magistrates Court Act, and that the sale was not made in pursuance of the Act. Counsiel submitted lengthy legal argument.'
