The secretary of the Royal East African Automobile Association 1 says tourists are using the road in ever-increasing numbers, but he recommends it only between July and the beginning of December, weather conditions making large parts of the country to be traversed undesirable during the rest of the year. Gasoline and hotels or rest houses are available over the whole 7000 miles.
