Turbulent Falls Of Canadian River Harnessed. CABBIES 250,000 H.P. (United Service.) (Received 11 a.in.) OTTAWA, October 1. The Paugen River, with its swift flowing rapids and turbulent falls, transformed into one of the largest and most complete power units in America, was turned on to-day. The transmission line is the greatest in the world in length and load. It carries 250,000 horse-power and stretches Tor 226 miles into Toronto. Its average voltage is 220,000.
