RESTING IN THE SOUNDS.
TEST FLIGHT TO-MORROW. FOR CHECKING OF COMPASSES. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) BLENHEIM, this day. The Southern Cross may make a test flight at dawn on Wednesday, to enable the navigator, Mr. H. A. Litchfield, to check his compasses after taking an observation of the rising run. The airmen spent last night at a cottage on the Grove Arm, and kept in touch with the Weather Bureau by telephone. They are delighted by the quiet and beauty of the Sounds. A, large searchlight brought from Fort Dorset, Wellington, has been tried, and it illuminates the whole runway. Bv its illumination motor cars have been enabled to traverse the course at full speed.
