MORE PLAY AREAS.
WORK AT ONEHUNGA. THIRTY MEN EMPLOYED. Thirty returned soldiers were set to work on the recreation reserve at Onehunga this morning to prepare the ground for more playing areas. The men have been selected by the Auckland Patriotic Association and their wages will be paid on a 50-50 basis by the association and the Public Works Department. The work is under the supervision of the Reserves Committee of the Onehunga Borough Council, with Mr. R. G. Speight as chairman. There will be fresh gangs of unemployed returned soldiers put. on each fortnight until the work is completed. This method has been adopted to give employment to as many men as possible.
