HIDES AND SHEEPSKINS.
WELLINGTON PRICES. The fortnightly sale#; of sheepskins, hides, tallow, etc., were held in Wellington on Friday. Brokers report that the recent weakening in wool prices was felt in the prices realised for skins, dry lots showing a decline of Id per lb, while salted sorts dropped I' 6 to 2/ per skin. Hides sold readily, but at an average of %d to %d lower. Kip and calf were in especially good demand at full prices with a hardening tendency. Tallow was very firm at late rates. The range of uricee current is as under: — Dry Sheepskins: Halrbred, 14d to lad• fine crossbred, 13d to sd; medium crossbred, 10% dto 13 l /4d; coarse crossbred, 10% d to 12% d; half wools, B%d to 13d; quarter wools, B%d to ll%d; pelts, 6d to lOd. Salted Skins: Pelts, 3/9 to 5/; quarter wools, 4/4; half wools, 7/2 to 9/8; three-quarter wools, 8/8 to 11/8; full wools, 9/10 to 12/11; extra large, 12/5 to 13/1; lambs, 1/6 to 10/. Hides: Ox, 331b to 441b, 10 J /4d; 451b to 521b, 9%d to 10% d; 531b to 591b, lOd to lid; 60lb to 691b, 10% d to ll%d; 701b and over, 9d to llV&d. Cow, 331b to 391b, B%d to 10% d; 40lb to 481b, B%d to 10% d; 491b and over, 9%d to lOVirl. Kip, 251b to 321b, Yearling. 111b to 161b. to 12% d. lOd to 12d: 171b to 24ib. 7%d to 12?sd. Calf. 91b to 101b, 9%d to ll%d: 61b to 81b, WA<] to lOVzd; lib to 51b, UY*d to 19d. Tallow: In casks, 27/6 to 31/6; in tins, etc.. 15/ to 29/.
