RIFLE SHOOTING.
CITY AND SUBURBS CLUB,
The City and Suburbs Rifle Club opened the season with a seven-shot shoot at 500 and 600 yards, on Saturday. There was a splendid attendance, and weather conditions were perfect. The actual shooting was of a fairly high standard, the outstanding score being the 34 out of 35 made by Rifleman P. J. Pring at 600 yards. He won the A grade spoon, while Rifleman H. «. Cozens confirmed the promise shown last season by winning the B .grade spoon easily. Results were:— A Grade. —P. J. Pring, 30, 34 —64 ; A. T. Patrick, 32, 31—63; J. A. Spry, 30, 32 —62; C. J. M. Cozens (received 3), 81, 33—67 ; M. L. Stewart (2), 33, 29—64. G. G. Kelly (scr.), 32, 31 —63; M. H. Russell (scr.), 31, 31 —62; H. W. Verrall (scr.), 31, 31—62; L. F. Verrall (7), 26, 28—61; C. Peate (4), 29, 28—61; C. Thompson (12), 27, 22—61; S. Griffiths (2), 31, 27 —60; G. P. Birks (3), 27, 28—58; W. Platts (1), 28, 28—57; N. S. Alexander (3), 27, 27—57; T. A. Cutler (10), 19, 26—55. The first championship shoot will be fired at 500 and 600 yards on Saturday.
