CHILD REVIVED.
AFTER 20 MINUTES IN WATER
REMARKABLE RECOVERY.
GIRL GUIDES PRAISED
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
GISBORXE, this day.
A girl aged three, the daughter of Mr. Moore, licensee of the Rangatira Hotel, fell into the river and was swept downstream. Twenty minutes elapsed before she was found in a shallow offshoot of the main stream. A flicker of life was detected, and through the respiratory measures undertaken by Constable Gregan, which were continued for an hour, the child was revived. Now, four days later, she is making a good recoverv.
The recovery is remarkable, for a large amount of water and mud had fonnd a way down the child's throat.
The quick action and presence of mind of two Girl Guides, Moira Reaney and Jean Gregan, were largely responsible for the child's recovery.
