THE DAIRY INDUSTRY.
TAURANGA
The quarterly returns of the Tauranga Butter Factory reveal a very satisfactory and promising condition. The first quarter of the year ended last month and shows a 40 per cent increase on the previous period. The increased facilities consequent upon the completion of the railway and the consequent reduction in prices are encouraging dairy farmers to give more attention to top-dr ;osing, and so getting a greater percentage of butterrat.
The amo at r>a 1 out for the month of August for butterfat was £5977, equivalent to 1/6 per lb for superfine quality.
