MAN ROBBED IN BRAWL.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day.' In a drunken brawl at one of the Hamilton hotels a man named Toi Pere assaulted and robbed James McMullin of £10. A charge of robbery with violence was made against him, but to-day it was reduced to one of common theft.
Detective White said Pere was a reliable man when he refrained from drinking liquor. Recently he served three months' imprisonment for theft. He had previous convictions dating back to 1917.
He was admitted to six months' probation and ordered to refund the stolen monev.
