CHILDREN AT TAKAPUNA

GENEROUS RESPONSE BY PUBLIC

"We have much pleasure in stating that a very generous response has already been made towards our appeal for tin; Brett Memorial Home," said Canon C. H. Grant Cowen to-day, in speaking on behalf of himself and his follow honorary organiser, Mr. C. F. Bennett.

Canon Cowen said that the sum of harl already been received towards the £2000 required for establishing in the home of the late Sir Henry Brett, at Takapuna, some eighty children from the Richmond Road Children's Home. He added that it was anticipated that in the next three or four weeks the full amount required would be received. I Meanwhile they felt that it would not be possible to make the necessary alterations to the home. Alrendv, however, some twenty of the children had been transferred from Richmond Road to their new home.
