ROWING.

WEST END CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The forty-fifth annual general meeting of the West End Rowing Club was held in the Boathouse, St. Mary's Bay, last night. Captain H. H. Sergeant presided over a good attendance of members. The report and balance-sheet as presented were adopted. Keen interest was evinced in the business, and elections were held for all except two offices. The officers elected were:—Patron, Mr. J. Peacock (re-elected); president, Mr. A. M. Paterson ; club captain, Mr. J. Haylock; deputy-captain, Mr. E. Such; hon. secretary, Mr. C. R. Parvin ; hon. treasurer, Mr. F. J. Bryan (reelected); management executive, Messrs. A. Collins, V. Hogan, I. M. Taylor; . delegates Auckland Rowing Association, Messrs. S. s. Cossey and J. Haylock ; selectors, Messrs. A. C. Norden, V. McFarlane, and club captain; auditors, Messrs. S. Barry and J. C. Gulliver. Mr. N. S. Cossey, In recognition of his lengthy and valuable services, was elected a life member of the club.

The following notices of motion were carried :—Moved by Mr. V. McFarlane, to alter rule 18 to read: "At the first general meeting in September In each year two members shall be elected to act with the captain to select crews to represent the club in races and matches." Moved by Mr. A. C. Norden to alter rule 12 to read: "The general management of the club shall be entrusted to a committee composed of the captain," deputy-captain, secretary, treasurer, elected under rule 11, and three other members elected from the general body," and delete the word "eight" on page 7 by substituting "five members to form a quorum." A vote of sympathy was carried (all members standing) to Mr. J. H. Maxwell, a life member, in his recent bereavement through the death of his mother. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded a successful meeting.
