ROOPE ROOSTER SEMI-FINAL.

PONSONBY AND NEWTOWN AGAIN.

VETERANS' ANNUAL MATCH.

When Ponsonby and Newton met in the semi-final of the Auckland Rugby League's Roope Rooster competition last Saturday, the result was a draw, 5 all, after a great struggle on a heavy ground. To-morrow the teams will meet again in the headliner at Car law Park to decide which thirteen shall meet Marist in the final to-morrow week. Enthusiasts are anticipating a great struggle. A curtain-raiser will be provided by the City and Ponsonby veterans, while on Xo. 2 ground Athletic and Point Chevalier will decide possession of the Stallard Cup, competed for anuually by the senior B teams.

Last Saturday the gate-takings at Carlaw Park were given to charity, but as the weather was wet, resulting in a smaller attendance than anticipated, the controlling body has decided to give fifty per cent, of to-morrow's gate for the same purpose.
