RACING INQUIRY.

OWNERSHIP OF CHERRY RIPE.

At the instance of the president of the New Zealand Racing Conference, an exhaustive inquiry was held by the Auckland District Committee last evening concerning the ownership of Cherry Ripe, who won on the flat and over hurdles in New Zealand and also won over hurdles in Australia.

The inquiry lasted till after midnight and It was eventually decided that although there were suspicious circumstances connected with the case, in the opinion of the majority of the committee the evidence was conflicting and insufficient to warrant any action being taken.
