A forensic battle for the possession of the Poor Knights islands will open at a sitting of the Tokerau Native Land Court in "Whangarei to-morrow. Messr.g. Meredith and Brown, solicitors, of Auckland, and Mr. O. A. Darby, of the Native Lands and Survey Department, arrived by the express to-day and will conduct the case for the Crown. Mr. L. Porore is acting for. the natives., who claim possession of the islands. A large number of Maoris are ' assembling to follow the proceedings.
