LINDRUM v. McCONACHT. MANY GOOD BREAKS. The exhibition billiard' match of IS,OOI> up between Waller Lindrum (Australia) and Clark MeCouachy iXew Zealand), which is being played in the St. James' Theatre building, continues to draw large numbers of spectators. The Australian, who established a good lead on the opening day, is still about thirteen hundred ahead, but McCoiiachy has shown a big improvement in form, and the remaining sessions are likely to be very interesting. Yesterday afternoon's session had not been long in progress before McConachy got going with s>oiue spectacular top o£ the. table play, and rattled on a break of 221. Lindrum, too, was in form, and replied with a splendid break of 484, using the nursery cannot to advantage. This was the highest break of the match to date. McConachy'e next good effort realised 2SO. and shortly afterwards he added breaks of 10S and 73. Lindrum then took a hand again and ran to session points with an unfinished effort of 202. The session scores -were:—\Y. L«indnim, 3750 (in play). Breaks of 92, 484, 202 unfinished. Average, 93-5. McConachy, 2430. Breaks of 221, 280, 108. Average, 94.25. There was a packed saloon for the evening session. By nice billiards Lindrum carried his unfinished break to 237, and then McConachy opened well with a break of IH9. Featuring the nurserycannon again, Lindrum rattled up 438 in quick time. The New Zealander then had an "off" spell, but added a break of 94. and came back to his best form to rattle up a great top-of-the-table break which totalled 316. Lindrnm then ran to points with an unfinished break of 80. The sc-Tes are:—W. Lindrum, 4501. Breaks of 237, 438, S9, 80 unfinished. Average. oS. McConachy, 3230. Breaks of 109, 94, 3 lrt. Average.
