LARGE CHARITY BALL.
A very successful dance to raise funds for Plunket nursing in Palestine was held, under the auspices of the Auckland Women's Zionist Society, at Dixieland Cabaret last evening. Mrs. Alexander Follick was the organiser, and her helpers, who wore nurses' costumes, were: Miss G. McXaughton, Miss K. McNaughton, Miss Peggy Jones, Miss K. Feldman, and Miss C. Feldman. An Apache dance, given by Miss G. McXaughton and Master Column Follick, was highly appreciated, as was also a most attractive Spanish ballet by Miss McXaughton, Miss Yvonne Arleu, and Mr. Colin Shorter. The orchestra, under the leadership of Mr. Ncilson, were dressed as doctors, adding considerably to the novelty. Mrs. Follick wore a. frock of black satin, rayed with rhinestone trimming; Mrs. David X'athan was in cerise satin with beaded overdress. Amongst those present were: Mre. Borrie, wearing black satin; Mrs. P: Free, black georgette; Mrs. X. Levy, black georgette, with sequin embroideries; Mrs. P. George, frock of gold tissue; Mrs. M. Mitchell, frock of black and gold sequins; Mrs. X. Wallace, lace over cream satin; Mrs. Wengdal, rose beige grosgrin; Mrs. A. D. Glasse, leaf green embossed frock; Mrs. Kirk, larkspur blue georgette; Mrs. M. Goldstine, ivory georgette with silver trimming; Mrs. H. S. White, delphinium bluo beaded frock; Mrs. S. Beattie, amber coloured, georgette; Mrs. A. Slinger, black and gold lace; Mrs. P. George, gold lame; Mrs. 11. Xightingale, black taffeta with bouffant skirt; Mrs. Gooding, gold lace; Mrs. Bullock, gold lace with sequin embroideries; Mrs. Hewett, palest pink georgette with tulle flounces; Mrs. A. Wilson, black georgette and crystal; Mrs. H. Richmond, smoke grey lace frock; Mrs. D. Carline, black satin with Oriental trimming; Mrs. ,F. Harrison, larkspur blue georgette and silver; Mrs. Peifer, palest green satin; Mrs. Dredge, rose -crepe de chine with j black trimmings; Miss C. Paykel, rose pink georgette and tulle; Miss I. Casey, black georgette with ankle-length skirt; Miss Dransficld, leaf greeu georgette; Miss 11. McDonald, black ring velvet; Miss E. Edwards, apricot velvet; Miss M.
