Campbell, of Raweno, Hokianga, who returned by the Maheno this morning. Mr. Campbell left New Zealand on February IT, and during a comprehensive tour of Scotland, inquired into agricultural and other matter?. When Mr. Campbell left Scotland prices of stock were exceedingly hieK spring lambs bringing from 72/ to 75/ in the open market. These prices nere not quoted as exceptional. Aβ for other stock. XT. Campbell's brother had Fold a line of store cattle at £26 per head. They were chiefly Shorthorns. "Most of the store cattle arriving in Scotland nowadays come over from Ireland," said Mr." Campbell, "and it i« common to see shipments of a thousand coming in as stores, and they are fattened and sold at good prices. Paddv has been buying some of Scotland's best Polled Angus and Galloway bulls for years, and through this means has built up a fine export trade to Scotland. Immediately on arrival all the Irish cattl» are branded, and then quarantined. Despite this fact, however, there appears to be an exceptionally good market for Irish stores."
