A CORRECTION.

In our report of the prosecution of "Argue" and his father at Whangarei, it was incorrectly stated that during the course of his judgment, the magistrate (Mr. J. H. Luxford) said that it must be remembered that Copeland, sen., had been before the Court in 1921, when his intention to deceive had been proved. Our Whangarei correspondent states that the word "not" should have preceded "proved," the magisterial statement made by the late Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., in* 1921 being: "The father believes in the boy's telepathic powers and so there is no intention to deceive on his part. Although I think an offence has been proved I do not wish to convict the defendant. The father is sincere in his confidence in his boy's powers." The correspondent adds that he believes that the words used by him were "intention to deceive had not been proved," but on investigation he found that the word "not" had been omitted fiom his message priov to its dispatch *o the telegraph office, thus placing a directly contrary interpretation upon the magistrate's meaning to that intended. We regret the error.
