SUCCESSFUL SEASON.
GRAND OPERA COMPANY. DOMINION RETURN TOUR. ARRANGEMENTS FOR NEXT YEAR. Sir Benjamin Fuller, accompanied by Lady Fuller, arrived on the Aorangi from Sydney this morning. In the course of a conversation. Sir Benjamin said he had come to look at St. Jamc-’ Theatre, which was to be the model of the Fuller theatres in the future. Referring to the Grand Opera season. Sir Benjamin said the Australian public were anxious for the return of the companv. but so marked had been their success in New Zealand, and so urgent were the requests for return visits, that he had decider! to tour the company once more over the Dominion before their return to the Commonwealth, which would be now delayed until the end of November. The results of the venture had exceeded expectations, and he was quite satisfied that the policy of his company to play Grand Opera once a year was the right one, and would receive the necessary public support. At the present tune Mr. Rudolph Gonsalez was in Europe engaging artists and making arrangements for next season’s operas. The Auckland season would conclude on Saturday, October 6.
Sir Benjamin goes south on Wednesday. and returns on the next trip of the Niagara.
