KING’S COLLEGE OLD BOYS.
HAMILTON REUNION. Over fifty <>ld scholars resident in the Waikato anrl tie King Country attenoed a reunion held on Saturday night at Hamilton. Tit? chair was occupied by Mr. K. H. Wilson, president of the King's College Old Boys' Association. Amongst the guests were Canon H. K. Archdall and Mr. J. U. Collins, representing the coliege. The chairman appealed to those present to assist as much as possible the public sch< ol boys from England now working in New Zealand, some of whom he feared under uncongenial conditions.
Mr. H. H. Hammond referred to past associations with King's College. He remarked that the war had made a gap in the line of old; boys, but he hoped revived interest would bring the old boys more into contact with the present pupils. Canon Archdall said he hoped to see the Old Boys' Association linked up with the college. Their air was to build up character that would be of future use In the Dominion. It. was desirable, he said, to encourage the spread of refinement, culture and sane idealism. The boy in New Zealand had a sound sense of duty, hut it required to be trained along the right lines. Mr. S. A. Empson. who joined King's Col leg'? In the foundation year, said it was worth going a long distance to see the chapel at the institution.
