THEFT ALLEGED.
MOTOR COMPANY’S FUNDS. YOUNG CLERK REMANDED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) OPOTIKI, this day. A young man was charged in the Police Court to-day that on September 13, while employed as a clerk by the Rotorua Motor Transport Company, he stole £32 9/8, the property of the company; and that on September 21 he stole £2O 5/1 from the same company. At the request of the police, accused was remanded till October 17. The police opposed the granting of bail, as further charges would- probably be made. Bail was allowed, and at the request of accused’s counsel accused’s name was suppressed.
