Mr. E. W. Inder left for Levin by train last evening. Mr. Beaumont Smith arrived in Auckland from Wellington last evening. Mr. W. P. Mitchell, of Napier, arrived by the Limited express this morning. The Hon. E. W. Alison, M.L.C., was a passenger by this morning's Limited express. . ... Mr. E. Davis, of Auckland, who has been to Wellington on business, returned by the Limited express this morning. Mr. Justice Reed and Mrs. Reed joined the Limited express at Frankton Junction for Wellington last evening. Sir George Elliot, chairman of directors of the Bank of New Zealand, and Mr. Buckleton, general manager, arrived this morning from Wellington. Mr. Justice Blair left Hamilton for Wellington by motor yesterday. He was accompanied by Mrs. Blair and his associate, Mr. R. E. Tripe. Staying at the Albert Hotel are Mr. P. R. Bydder and Mr. W. Hislop (Wellington), Mr. I. Gillies (Hamilton) and Mr. James Harris (Huntly). Mr. J. W. McLean, postmaster at Masterton, has received notice of his transfer on promotion, to relieving officer at the General Post Office, Wellington. Mr. McLean was supervisor of the telegraph branch of the Auckland Post Office for many years. Messrs. H. G. R. Mason, R. P. Hudson, R. W. Smith, A. Harris, Stewart Reid, F. J. Rolleston, M. J. Savage, J. A. Lee, W. Glenn, A. M. Samuels, M.P.'s, were passengers to Auckland by the Limited express this morning. Guests at the Central Hotel include Mr. W. Dimoch and Mr. J. Hughes (Palmerston North), Mr. H. S. Miller (Thames), Mr. and Mrs. S. V. Tylor and Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Ross (Hamilton), Mr. W. Mason Bayley (Russell), Mr. Wilfred Johnstone .(Te Awamutu). and Mr. A. Alexander and Mr. F. C. Emeny • (New. Plymouth > Mr. and Mrs. W. Hatt (England), Mr. D. J. Davis (Sydney), Mr. T. R. Drummond (Gordonton), Mr. and Mrs. H. Fraser (Gisborne), Mr. H. H. Robinson, Mr. and Mrs. C. K. Winston, Mr. E. J. Isaacs (Wellington), and Dr. and Mrs. E. T. Rogers (Hamilton), are at Hotel Cargen. Mr. M. Drummond (Hamilton), Mr. R. G. Hosking (Whangarei), Mr. and Mr*. R. Hammond (Cambridge), Mr. and Mrs. B. Clendon and Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Shaw (Thames), Mr. C. E. Zohrab, Mr. A. Ward and Mr. and Mrs. I. E. Austin (Wellington) and Mr. A. T. Wilson (Palmerston North) as* at the Star Hotel.
