Te Awamutu Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, is making a cash advance payment to suppliers of l/sMsd per lb for finest butterfat supplied in August, the total amount of the payment being £5245. The amount paid in August of last year, at the same rate of advance, was £2786. The total amount advanced for three months of the season to date is £7725, compared with £4209 last year. The quantity of butter made in August by the company was 38 tons 12cwt, compared with 21 tons 3cwt in August last year. The output for the three months is 61% tons, an increase of 86 per cent over last year. The sixth national Jersey sale was continued at Claudelands to-day, when Wright, Stephenson and Company, Ltd., and Abraham and Williams, Ltd., offered to a good bench of buyers 108 stud yearling bulls and twelve stud yearling heifers. There was keen bidding, 95 bulls being sold at an average of 30 guineas. Ihe top price, 120 guineas, was paid by Mr. Mervyn Smith, of New South Wales, for the yearling bull, Prince's Rinda. >.
