FARMING PROSPECTS.
ENGLISH YOUTHS' STUDY.
VISITING THE WAIKATO.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
HAMILTON, this day.
The five students from various agricultural colleges of England who are touring the Dominions arrived in Hamilton to-day. The youths have all received a higher education, and are studying the conditions in various British possessions with a view to reporting on the possibilities of agricultural settlement for boys of their class. The chances of settlement on the land in England are remote. The visitors realise the possibilities in the Dominions, but desire to acquire firsthand knowledge of the conditions before any concerted movement is entered upon. The boys, who are of a fine type, were met by the Deputy Mayor, Dr. Pinfold, and Mr. G. W. Wild (representing the Agricultural Department), Mr. F. H. Clapham (president of the Chamber of Commerce), Mr. T. H. Henderson (of the Farmers' Union), and, Mr. A. K. Alexander (president of the Winter ShowAssociation). After having luncheon they inspected the factories of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company at Frankton, and subsequently visited the Ruakura State Farm. To-morrow they will go to the Waitoa dried milk and condensed milk factories, and they will leave for Auckland to-morrow night.
