ADJOURNED FOR A WEEK.

AUCKLAND WITHOUT A JUDGE.

The Supreme Court at Auckland tliis morning adjourned until October 1. Tbo reason for this is that next week there will be no judge in Auckland. It is most unusual for the Court to be without a judge for more than a few days. Mr. Justice Reed, the Acting-Chief Justice, who has been presiding at Auckland since the commencement oi the present sessions, will leave for Wellington this evening to take his seat on the Court of Appeal, which commences its sittings in Wellington on Tuesday. Mr. Jus tit* Smith, the newlyappointed judge, is expected to arrive in Auckland to-morrow week and wiJI preside when the Court resumes its sittings on the following Monday.
