MERCHANT'S FORTUNE.
LEFT TO NIECE, LADY BYNQ-. (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) (Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, September 20. M. Pandeli Ralli, a wealthy Greek merchant, has left his entire fortune of over £750,000 to his niece, Lady Byng. M. Ralli was a personal friend of King Edward. Mr. Pandeli Ralli was born in 1845, and received his education at King's College, London. He has held several civil offices during his career, and started by being Deputy-Lieutenant for the County of Dorset. Later he became a Justice of the Peace and a County Councillor for Surrey. He also took part in politics, which he entered in 1875, by successfully contesting the seat for Bridport in the Liberal interest. This he held till 1880, when he changed his constituency and was elected Liberal member for Wallingford, which he held until 1885.
