The annual meeting of the Franklin Lawn Tennis Association was held at Buckland last evening, Mr. A. Park Ilorne presiding over delegates from the 'luakau Domain, Tuakau Central, Onewhero, Buckland, Pukekohe, St. James, Pukekohe Hill, Mauku, and Bombay Clubs. The report stated that a most successful year had been terminated with a credit "balance of £22 16/1- Fifteen clubs were affiliated to the association, the membership comprising 000 seniors and To junior players. The l'ark Home Shield, lor A grade teams, was won by the l'ukekohe Club, and the Moore-Schlaepfer Shield, for B grade teams, by Waiuku. "The election of officers resulted : — Patron, Mr. A. Park Horne; president, Mr. It. J. Glasgow; vice-presidents, Major S. C. ] Schofieid, Messrs. W. J. A. Moore and L. J. Bayly; secretary, Mr. R. N. Johnson ; trustees, Messrs. Park Horne and Johnson ; auditor, Mr. R. .Phillip® ; delegates to Auckland Association, Messrs. R. J. Glasgow, P. A. Hillary, and W. IS. Richards; management committee, Messrs. Glasgow, Johnson, and Hillary; chief selector, Mr. M. S. Campbell; zone selectors, Messrs. P. A. Hillary, C. Morrin, and E. R. Matuschka. It was decided to conduct the A and B grade zone competitions as usual, and to institute a separate zone for advanced players in the larger clubs. The opening dky for the competitions was fixed for November 3. The Otaua Club was granted affiliation, and given permission to enter a B team in the competitions. THE PAPAKURA CLUB. ! j PAPAKURA, Thursday. 1 There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Pnpakura Tennis Club. Mr. W. A. Pavitt presided. The report stated that the membership numbered tt3, which was a slight increase on the previous year. The club had had a very successful season. The financial statement showed a credit balance of £47. The following officers were elected: — Patron, Mr B. D. McLennan, M.P. ; president, the chairman-elect of'the Papakura Town Board ; Rev. W. C. Wood and Messrs. A. R. McLennan, W. A. Pavitt and J. E. Elliott; captain, Mr. J. F. McDonald; secretary and treasurer, Mr. G. •Smith ; committee, Mes-dames Busing, Drake, .1. F. Johnstone and G. W. O'Conneli and Messrs. BUsing, S. Gleeson, Sutton, McDonald, T. McLennan and I. JSoagey : grounds committee, Messrs. .McDonald, Sutton and Perry. It was decided to officially open the courts for the season on October 13. It was stated that the committee would consider the erection of a new pavilion and the laying down of two new courts this season. THE WAIUKU CLUB. iFrom Our Own Correspondent.) WAIUKU, Thursday.

The annual general meeting of the Waiuku Tennis Club was held last evening, the president, Mr. A. W. M. Ohlson presiding over a fair attendance. The repoFt and balance-sheet disclosed that the club, after expending extra uioiey on improvements, bad a credit balance on the year's working. The election of officers resulted:—President, Mr. A. W. M. Ohlson (re-elected); vicepresidents, Mr. L. J. Smith and Dr. C. E. Howden; secretary and treasurer, Mr. C. C. Munro (re-elected).; committee. Misses M. Arkle and B. Christlanson, Mrs. R. Mcintosh, Messrs. J. A. Nayemith, A. James, Gordon Arkle and L. J. Smith; auditor, Sir. H. M. Barriball; match committee, Messrs. Ohlson, Smith and Arkle; ground committee. Messrs. B. James, A. Naysmlth and G. Arkle. It was decided to bold the official opening day on October 13.
