RESIDENTS' REUNION.
The Otahuhu resident's' final function for this year, eclipsed all previous efforts, j on Wednesday evening in the Public j Hall. The large number present represented both old and new residents, in addition to whom were guests from the neighbouring boroughs. The hall was tastefully decorated, and excellent music was supplied by the Old Colonists' Orchestra, with Mr. J. Douglas relieving with items. The Mayor (Mr. R. B. Todd) welcomed the guests and outlined the objects of the social. In the grand march almost everyone in the hall participated. Miss Emily Moffat sang "Love's Old Sweet Song," other items were rendered by Mr. W. Dixon "Plymouth Ho," Mrs. Turner "My Dear Soul," and community singing was led by Mr. E.- Sutherland. During the evening mock presentations were made to several of those who had given strenuous committee work. All the dances were of the old-time variety and a mazurka competition resulted in Mr. and Mrs. Hickson being the .winners, whilst Mr. Murdock and Mrs. Payne were the successful ones in the polka contest.
