LONDON WOOL SALES.
PRICES DOWN. MARKET LISTLESS. (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) (Received 11.30 a.ra.) LONDON, September 19. At the wool sales 10,421 bales were offered, of which 5333 were Australian and 4026 New Zealand. There was an excellent representative selection of all sorts, though a considerable portion was secondhand. There was a crowded attendance from all centres, but a listless market, everybody awaiting a lower basis. Consequently there were many withdrawals. Prices declined compared with July closing rates, Merinos generally, 7 and 7V& per cent, greasy crossbred, 5 to 7% per cent, good scoureds 7% per cent, faulty carbonising sorts 10 per cent, slipes 7% per cent. Prices realised were: Cornfoot, 18% dto 18d; Northampton, 24% dto 22d.
