INSURANCE BALL.

Clumps of feathery bamboo and greenery lined the entrance of the Scots Hall last evening, when the Insurance Officers' Benevolent Fund held a most successful ball. Tiny lights twinkled from among the greenery, and the whole scene looked like a fairy dell. On the stage, which was arranged as a lounge with comfortable armchairs, ferns, pot plants, and flowers gave a charming touch. Festoons of greenery interspersed with twinkling lights were looped round the walls, and suspended from the ceiling were huge clusters of gaily coloured balloons, which, during the evening, were released, and caused a great deal of fun- The flowers on the supper tables were a beautiful sight; they consisted of Iceland poppies and daffodils arranged in tall vases, and low bowls of violets. The supper arrangements, under the supervision of Mrs. E. Williams, were excellent. The ladies of the committee present '.vert.': Miss 11. Anderson, who wore a frock of blue taffeta, with s«'alloj>ed hem of black velvet; Miss P. Arthur, sunset georgette; Miss R. Katterfeldt, silver lame and pink georgette; Miss E.
