BAY OF PLENTY MAILS.
The Bay of Plenty Development League has been advised by the Acting-Postmaster-General that parcel mails for Whakatane are now being forwarded by rail to the Kiwinui railway station and from there by motor. Although consideration has been given to the question of according similar treatment to Opotiki, it has been decided to make no changes in the existing arrangements in regard to parcels for that place. As a result of the extension of the railway line to Taneatua, the Minister says, the mail services in the district have been reorganised and it is hoped that the arrangements are satisfactory.
