"INCIDENT CLOSED."
HOCKEY REFEREE REINSTATED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Following a meeting of the manage* ment committee of the Canterbury Hockey Association, it was announced that "Mr. R. H. Down has apologised to Mr. Davey, who had accepted the apology and expressed a wish to withdraw hie letter of complaint to the association. In view of this the management committee unanimously decided to rescind its previous resolution. The incident is therefore closed in a manner creditable to all parties concerned.".
The previous resolution was that Mr. Down be stood down from refereeiug for three years on account of having made an insulting remark to M. Davey, another referee, at a hockey live-aside tourney.
