RUSSIANS CAPTURE BITLIS BY STORM.
SECOND GREAT-WEDGE DRIVEN IN TURKISH FRONT/i HEAVY SNOWFALLS HINDERING THE CAMPAIGN. LONDON, March 5. The Russians stormed and captured Bitlis, in Armenia, on Thursday night, capturing six guns and many prisoners. The capture of Bitlis represents a second great wedge in the Turkish front, giving the Russians the whole of the Van region. It severs' the Turks operating in the Mush region from those in the vicinity of Lake Urmia, in Persia. The Caucasian campaign is exceptionally difficult owing to the roads being impassable with snow.
