At the conclusion of the run the members were invited by the Pakuranga ladies to partake of refreshments at the hall. Mr Bullock Webster thanked them on behalf of the club for their hospitality. ROTORUA RACING CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Rotorua Racing Club was held on Thursday. The attendance was disappointing, only ten members being present. MrC. A. Clarke (president) occupiedi the choir. The financial statement showed that the club started the year with a credit balance of £50 16/6, and the receipts had been £210 8/6, made up of privileges £41 10; nominations and acceptances, £39 17/6; donations, £12----members' fees, £20 2/: totalisator. £93 18/6; accident fees, £3 0/6. The disbursements amounted to £236 3/4, leaving a credit balance of £25 1/8. The actual loss on the last race meeting was £19 14/10. In moving the adoption of the financial statement, the president considered It most creditable to the secretary (Mr Carr) that they had any balance at all, with the difficulties he had to contend with. They had had a big handicap at the last meeting, and the secretary had done well in pulling them through; the result was better than he had anticipated. Mr Carr said that the clnb was only £3 9/1 better off than it was four years ago. After considerable discussion, during which the position of affairs was reviewed and some severe remarks made with regard to the meagre support given to the olub, it was resolved that a public meeting be convened for Wednesday next, to consider the desirability of winding up the affairs of the club. The appointment of secretary nnd ' other officers was deferred, pending the decision of the public mesting.
