MESSRS ALFRED BUCKLAND AND SONS' REPORT. Horses: At the Haymarket on Friday last we had a good demand for all classes. Aged draughts sold at from £2iS to £34; aged medium draughts, £16 to £30; lignter sorts, £8 10/ to £15 5/; buggy horses, £14 to £26; ordinary hacks and ponies, £4 to £7 10/; Raleigh cart, £19; sulky, £7. During the week we sold privately medium stallions from £40 to £63.

For this , time of the year we had a large muster of stock at Helensville on Wednesday. All classes sold at slightly better values. Springing heifers. £3 5/ to £5 10/; empty cows. £2 to £3 2/6; small fat steers, £6 5/; fat cows and heifers, £3 17/ to £5 7/; forward conditioned three-year steers, £5 S/ to £5 11/; two to three-year steers, £3 9/ to £4- 2/; yearlings to 18 months, £1 11/ to £2 13/; calves, to £1 2/; fat wethers, £1 3/.

At Remuexa on Thursday dairy cows came forward jn larger numbers than of late, and were dull of sale. Those near their profit sold from £4 to £S 5/; dry, 30/ to £2 10/. Fat and young calves, in full supply, sold freely from 3/ to 46/, according to weight and quality: 122 sold. There was a full supply of fat cattle of choice quality, which sold freely throughout at recent quotations. Steers ranged in price from £6 2/6 to £11 12/6; cows (very few penned), £4 to £7 17/6; 415 sold. The sheep pens were we'l filled with a good class of mutton, which sold steadily throughout at late values, best wethers selling from 26/ to 30/, lighter weights 21/ to 25/, weighty ewes to 23/6, others 15/6 to 20/. hoggets 14/6 to 19/; 1450 sold. Pigs, in better supply than of late, brought high values right through. Small, from 9/ to 15/; slips, to 18/; porkers, to 44/; no heavy penned; 100 yarded. Hens, 2/ each.

Hides. Skins, Tallow, etc.: Hides —Ox, no stout catalogued, 4d to s}d; cow, 3Jd to 4gd; kip. 4d to s}d; calf. 5d to 6Jd: horse, 6/6 to 11/3: damaged hides, to 4Jd; tallow, 27/' to 2S/9: bones. 4/3 to 4/9. Skins—Best but chers', 5/6 to 6/8; medium, 4/4 to 5/3; small, 2/4 to 3/8; damaged, 1/ to 3/6. MELBOURNE HIDE SALES.
