DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOLS.
DISRATING PROPOSAL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. At a meeting of the Education Board to-day a communication was receive! from the Department of Education stating that it was proposed to disrate the Palmerston and Hampden district high schools, on account of decreased attendances. The proposal was received with much disfavour, members expressing Ihi opinion that the Government regulations were killing district high schools. It was decided to reply, stating that the communication would receiva serious consideration, but pointing out that, in the Board's opinion, the Department's own regulations were mainly the cause of the non-success of district high schools.
