£By Telegraph—Press Association.) NEW SALVAGE STEAMER. WELLINGTON, this day. The Union Company's powerful salvage and tug steamer Terawhiti, which was built at Leith for service in Wellington Harbour and Cook Strait, arrived here this morning in charge of Captain Eansotn. She left Leith on June 3rd, and encountered two monsoons on the way out. She proved herself a splendid sea boat, and averaged nine knots.

In the Supreme Court to-day Elizabeth Annie Reid was committed for four months' imprisonment for robbing a guest in a hotel in which she was a domestic servant. '.
