A GUN ACCIDENT.

COROMANDEL, this day.
John Jones, a settler at Cabbage Bay, was brought to the Coromandel Hospital yesterday, with his right hand badly shattered by a gun accident. Jones had laid the weapon against a tree while he was working at bash clearing, and had: absent-mindedly placed his hand upon it, with the result" that it went off.
