SLY-GROG BUYING.
TNVERCARGILL, this day.
Mr McCarthy, S.M., to-day delivered reserved judgment in a case against Jeremiah Hartnett, William Meikle, and Martin Campbell, charged with assisting in the sale of liquor. Evidence was given that the men visited sly-grog- shops, and purchased liquor. The Magistrate found that this constituted an offence, and fined each man £2, with costs, in default a fortnight's imprisonment.
