HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD.
The Auckland Hospital and Charitable Aid. Board met this afternoon. Present: Messrs U J. Bagnail (chairman), J. u'itt, A. Sturges, Rutherford, A. Bruce, VV. K. Jilooujiieid, C. Gregory, aud Jenkine. Grant to Nurses. —Tlie Hospital Committee in iti report, recommended that mirs'.-t----of the hospital staff, when engaged in nursiu» plu-u-c- and smallpox cases or suspects, be" granted au houorariuui of £'J '2/ for tue first week, and £1 1/ per week for the succeeding weeks. Tbe recommendation to be retrospective, and \.hu addition to ordinary salary. An-aestheudst.—The Hospital Committee recommended that cvi auaesthetiulst be en-
gaged for about three mornings a wees, tor which the sum of £3 o/ should be paid. The senior resident medical officer, the report stated, had been authorised to make temporary arrangements tv cope with tne work.
Appointments and Promotions. —The Hospital Committee recommended the following appointments aud promotions be made: Sister Woods be re-appointed, aud Charge Nurse Iteyuoldt. tie promoted to the uositiun of acting-sister for six mouths, at £50 a year, from July 1; re-appoiutmeut of Charge Nurses Hogwood, Brown, and Davit's for six mouths; re-appointment of Staff-nurses Bedford and Parker, and promotion of Nurses Condick, Miriams, Cairns. Froude. Scott, Cooke, and Taylor as staff-nurses, subject to their passing the State examination.
