The High Commissioner's cable, dated London, June 29, is as follows: The mutton market is dull, and there is a scarcity of prime quality on offer, aud fair demand continues for this class. The average price of Canterbury mutton is 3}d. The lamb market is weak, and there is a large supply on haud. Canterbury lamb is quoted at ojci, aud other than Canterbury at sd. The beef market remains arm: A decline iv prices, however, seems imminent. Hind quarters sold at 3jd. and fores at 3id.

The butter market is quiet, but steady. A considerable quantity is now arriving, and is being placed in cold store. Choicest New Zealand sold at 90/, Siberian at 93/, and Danish at 109/. The cheese market is quiet, the buyers holding back, expecting prices to go lower. New Zealand white manufacture sold at 62/, and coloured .it 61/. The average price for Canadian, new make, is 58/.

The hemp market is steady, and holders are firm. Good fair grade, on spot, £34 10/; fair grade, in same position, £30; fair current Manila, on spot. £35.

The Cocksfoot seed market is firm, and a better demand is experienced. Brignt, clean, New Zealand seed. 17ib per bush*], was quoted at 55/ per cwt.
