(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) - • • P4EEOA, this day. Heavy gales which have prevailed during the—last few days did considerable damage to fences and cJrimneys. A rootbridge at-Mackay.town. was blown over last night. The contractors, Messrs. White and Law, Sad just completed the bridge, Wtt the work had not been passed by the county engineer. - A conference between the directors ana the employees of the Thames Valley Cooperative Dalrv Company, with, regard to •wages and bonus on labour, is being held Ifhere. Previous to the conference, the 'employees were entertained at dinner at the Royal Mail Hotel by their employers. An old resident named William Donnelly, aged 63, died suddenly to-day from heart failure. «_„,„, Last evening the second Catholic social was held in the Choral Hall,..when there was a large attendance.. The order of the evening was progressive euchre and dancing. .
