THE WAIHI SHOW.
(3y Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, Friday. The annual show of the Waihi Poultry, Pigeons, and Canary and Dog Society was I opened by the President, Ml. T. M. Pattullo j this afternoon. Mr. Pattullo said he conjsidered that mc show was a very creditlabie one, some of the local exhibits being I really first ciass. The poultry section was j exceptionally good, and the president made j special re_ferenee to the fine lot of locallyraised birds exhibited by Mr. T. Snow. | The chow was patronised by a good i mauy people this afternoon and evening. Altogether there are about 400 exhibits tn i various classes, and Mr. A. TaitersalL of Auckland, who judged the poultry, pig- ! etons and canary section, considers the I show would be very creditable indeed to | a place of larger size than Waibi. The I-best classes in the-show are undoubtedly I the Orpington, White Leghorns. PiyI mouth Rocks, and Wyandottes, I'ekin and I Indian Runner duek —and of these there |-are some really fine birds. Mr. A. c, Jones, of Auckland, secured first prize for the best bird in the show, and Mr. house, of Thames, for the three best, whi.e Mr. J. M. Thomson won ail first and specials in bantams and canaries. The dog portion of the show was r-lso very good, and Mr. B. Hall, of Auckland, who Performed the duties of judge so satisfacl torilv, considered various exhibits were vc-rv* strong. Altogether the show promises Ito 'be very successful.
