Gibson, A.0.5.M.. who has been appointed assistant lecturer to th° Kaiangahaie and Waikino (Schools of Mines, leaves WaJai to-morrow, to take op hU new Unties. ■ The Orchestral pociety's concert ■ last night passed off very -successfully, from a musical point of view. The attendance was remarkably poor, but the audience however, did not lack in enthusiasm, and tile various selections by tile orchestra I were greatly appreciated. Mr. W. XLcKniDon conducted, and Miss Garvey accompanied on the piano, at the close of the concert, supper was provided, and before the members of the society dispersed, Mr McKinnon presented Miss Simmons (violmist), witu a small memento from the orchestral society, the presentation taking the form of an autograph card, containing the antogrmpjjs.of aIJ .fine members, a - namf : some card case, aud a gold trinket symbolical of New Zealand. Mr. H. L. Simmons fittingly replied on behalf of his daughter '
