At a meeting of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugb.r Union It vras decided 'that the matcTi between tne Auckland and Buller Unions for the Ranfurly Shield -would he looked-np as a special challenge match. It was resolved. that tlicrecent life disqualifications imposed on three persons "by Bie Haivlie's Bay Union for €tie use of abusive language be. made general. ■«" The decision of the N.Z.R.U. with regard to the Auckland-Buller match means tnat the net profits, after paying the expenses of both teams, will be handed over to the New Zealand R.U, When the, challenge of tie Buller "'jnion -was accepted by AjxcUland it was understood that the Buller team was on tour, tie secretary stating that Kelson and Jlarlborongh were to be, played on the way to Auckland. The match, under these conditions, -would have been treated as an ordinary inter-provincia? fixture, so far as the allocation of profits is tfoncerned.
