AUCKLAND PARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY.
The, members of the Auckland Parliamentary Society met last night at the Leys Institute to definitely arrange the programme for the coming session. There was a good attendance. Mr C. H. Serton presided. Replies received irom various literary societies point to a good muster of members this session. It wa-s decided that non-members of literary societies should be permitted to join the Assembly upon payment of a fee of 5/. It was also agreed that the Assembly should meet fortnightly on Wednesday evening, the session to open next week. The following appointments were made: —Messrs Jeffreys, S. Gregory, G. R. Hutchison, E. H. Northcroft, and F. M. Hay were elected members of the House Committee; Mr W. J. Speight, Speaker; the Hon. J. A. Tole, K.C., Governor; Mr A. T. Thome, clerk; and Mr F. Hut■chinson, Sergeant-atrArms.
