THE PROJECTED TOWN HALL SITE.
(To the"Editor.)
________
Sir, —There is an aspect of the Town Hall question that nobody has dealt with yet; it is quite important, too It is ridiculous to put £80,000 into a building whose hall will only hold 3000; we have buildings to accommodate -"000 already. £80,000 for seats for an extra 1000 persons seems rather ridiculous. If at any time the Premier were to address a meeting here we should want room for 5000 or 6000, and Auckland does not intend to stand still. Too much money is going into the foundations of this monstrosity. The Auckland public ought not to rely to much on Mr. Vaile's efforts, able though they be, in this matter. He should be strenuously supported by petitions. — I am **C* , ._y GSAHbES ROgISON.
