TUAKAU NEWS.
(Prom Our Own Correspondent.) A highly successful bail was held in the Tuakau Hall on Friday evening last The hall was prettily decorated with flags. Supper was served in a large shed adjoining the hall. Messrs S. Smith and B. Gera~hty acted as M.C.'s, and the music was 'sup plied by Messrs Flexman and Tapper Dancing was kept up with spirit until 3 a.m., and a very enjoyable evening was spent by aU. - ° A new bridge has been built to replace the one washed away by the flood It is a much more substantial affair, and larger It will be opened for traffic In a few days." The football match, Tuakau v. Pokeno United, resulted to a win for the former by 23 points to nil. The Tuakau team are leading for the Franklin Union championship, oeing a draw ahead of the Pukekohe team. Several extremely hard frosts have been experienced this last week.
