WESTRALIAN TIMBER DISPUTE.

PERTH, this day. In connection with the timber dispute application has been made for the rescission of the injunction restricting certpin persons from dealing with tne fund raised to assist the women and children affected by the strike. Tne application was adjourned, but the Court released £300 for the purpose.
QUEENSLAND SUGAR INDUSTRY

BRISBANE, this day. A representative deputation of sugar growers waited on Sir John Forrest yesterday and urged the Government to introduce suitahle labour for the su"ar plantations. The deputation agreed tnat tbe abolition of the bounty of £3. and the excise of £'1, with the retention of the import duty oi £6, would be better for the industry.

Various complaints made of errors in the Press cables .from England show that tne Indian lines are chiefly to blame. The Indian Government has been communicated with in the hope of securing an improvement.
